Philosophy

Dubai is a city people arrive in alone. New job, new tower, new neighbourhood where nobody knows your name. You can have a full calendar here and still eat every meal by yourself.

DubaiGF is a directory of companions — women who will join you for dinner, an event, a gallery opening, a trip, or a wedding where turning up alone would be its own small ordeal.

A real person, or nothing

The problem with every directory of this kind is the same one: you cannot tell who is real. Photographs are lifted, recycled and resold. Someone books an evening with the person in the pictures and meets somebody else entirely, or nobody at all.

So the whole design of this site points at one question — is this person real, and are they the person in these photographs? Everything else follows from that.

What the tick actually means

Before a listing can go public, the person behind it records a short video, about five seconds, from the camera on the device they are using. One of our moderators watches it and compares the face in it with the photographs on the profile. If it matches, the listing is verified and shows a small tick.

That is a narrow claim and we would rather state it narrowly than oversell it. It means a moderator has seen a video of a face and judged it to be the same face as the photographs. It does not mean we have run a biometric liveness check — a recording can be replayed, and software exists that can feed video into a camera as though it were live. A careful reviewer catches most of that. Nobody catches all of it.

It is also not a background check, a criminal records check or a character reference. It says nothing about anyone's manners, punctuality or intentions. It tells you the photographs are honest, which is the single most common thing that is dishonest elsewhere.

There is no way to obtain the tick except by recording the video. There is no manual override, and no setting that grants it.

Every listing is reviewed

Nothing appears in the directory automatically. Before a listing goes public it needs a confirmed email address, a complete profile, between five and ten photographs that a moderator has looked at individually, a chosen cover photograph, and an accepted verification video. Miss any one and the listing stays private.

That is slower than letting people publish the moment they sign up. It is slow on purpose, and it is the reason the directory is worth reading.

The clip does not outlive the decision

The verification video is held only until a moderator has decided, and is erased the moment they do — approved or declined. It is never published, never shown to another member, and never served anywhere outside the moderation queue. Nothing in the directory is built from it.

No is a complete answer

Companions choose who they reply to and are never required to explain a decline. A request that goes unanswered has been answered. Pressure, persistence after a no, or any attempt to push someone towards something they did not agree to will cost you your account.

The same applies in the other direction. Nobody listed here owes anyone their time.

Privacy by default

Email addresses and phone numbers never appear on listings. Photographs are re-encoded when you upload them, so the location and camera data buried in the original file is discarded rather than published — phone photographs routinely record exactly where they were taken. Conversations stay between the two people in them.

We collect what the service needs to work, and then we stop.

Your own judgement still matters

Verification, moderation and reporting raise the floor. They do not replace meeting in a public place first, telling a friend where you are going, and leaving when something feels off. Read the safety page before a first meeting — it is short, and it is there for a reason.

If we get something wrong

We would rather hear it than not. Tell us.
